Automotive Australia:
Smart Fabrication is proud to be South Australian, with our state forming the beating heart of the Australian automotive industry.

South Australia is the Australian headquarters of the car manufacturer GM Holden, maker of Australia's highest selling car; the Commodore . It is also home to a cluster of component manufacturers and suppliers, including major international automotive companies such as Hirotec, Schefenacker Vision Systems, Siemens, ZF Lemforder, Tenneco, and Futuris Automotive.

Key export markets for road vehicles, parts and accessories exports include the United States, Saudi Arabia, China, New Zealand, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and Korea.
Smart Fabrication is well equipped for automotive contracts with our new 30,000 square metre site. Of this, 6,000 square metres are undercover, and this comprises 5 workshops.
Our capabilities include:
Smart Fabrication is well prepared, having previously conducted a range of work of varying scope for GM Holden. One such example was the steel support work for the robotics area, requiring extremely high quality levels to meet meticulous GM Holden standards. Other work included manufacturing of components for production line equipment, such as turntables and 'WIP' racks. Smart Fabrication has also been instrumental in priority work with low lead times, such as shutdown work. Timing is of the essence in shutdown work as any lost time in an automotive production line can cost the business dearly.
All of our projects adhere to rigorous ISO-9001 quality standards, and we are working towards achieving ISO-3834 welding standards in the next 12 months. Our medium term plan also includes ISO Environmental standards and Occupational Health & Safety Standards. All of this is part of our culture of continuous improvement, ensuring that all work is carried out the highest quality standards.
