Training:
As well as our apprentice program, employees while working for Smart Fabrication have been able to acquire the following; fork lift licences, scissor lift licences, truck licences, white cards, first aid courses, fire safety courses, OH&S courses, audit courses, working at heights, confine space, BA courses, tag & testing courses, cert. IV in management, diploma in management, business coaching program, business online course and many more!
Weld Procedures:
Weld procedures are also hot on the agenda at the moment at Smart Fabrication and in the last 12 months alone we have qualified employees to over 30 weld procedures! Procedures ranged from a 2mm 316 stainless GTAW procedure for the Adelaide Submarine Corporation right through to Ø1575 MSCL pipe GMAW procedure for the Adelaide Desalination Plant. Other procedures included an Aluminium GMAW procedure for handrail structures for Leighton’s and a G350-BIS80 MMAW procedure for a repair of a crane boom.
Culture:
Smart Fabrication is a family business that has now grown to employee around 50-60 people. What makes Smart Fab different is that amongst this growth we have still managed to carry through the positive aspects of a "small family business". Through regular social days & monthly BBQ's, weather its borrowing a work ute until you get back on your feet or dangling a line for bream over the wharf with boss on a Saturday its hard to beat our culture. Smart Fab is a place where management leave their doors open and listen and act on employees suggestions and problems. Your not just a number, you part of the team.
